Summary: The IT Manager is responsible for planning, directing, budgeting, and overseeing all Information Technology (IT) functions and systems to meet organizational and operational needs.   This role ensures efficient IT operations, functional business applications, and the development of new technical solutions that support manufacturing and business objectives.

This position provides leadership for IT Operations and Business Systems teams, supervises a diverse technical staff, manages IT vendor contracts, leads projects, develops training and procedures, and ensures IT performance while empowering the team to excel.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
 
  • Assess departmental needs to identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions that enhance productivity, efficiency, and accuracy to support and inform business decisions.
  • Ensure IT infrastructure is utilized effectively to support business objectives, remains aligned with organizational goals, and adapts to evolving capabilities and industry advancements.
  • Continually evaluate IT processes, technologies, and vendor performance to identify inefficiencies, recommend optimizations, and identify other areas for improvement.
  • Conduct cost–benefit analyses for necessary upgrades, thoroughly evaluate vendor offerings to ensure technical compatibility and value and negotiate prices and contracts to secure optimal services that meet business needs.
  • Ensure the department provides adequate training resources for employees to learn about the features and functionality of IT-implemented systems and resolve common technical problems. Assist in the creation and periodic review of training materials as needed.
  • Continually review and develop disaster recovery plans and ensure the integrity of data backups. Execution of disaster recovery plans as required by business function.
  • Perform additional responsibilities/duties as assigned.

Education / Experience   
 
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in IT, with a strong understanding of IT operations and processes.  Prior management or team leadership experience within IT teams is preferred.
  • Infor or NetLink experience is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of core IT Systems (ex: Microsoft 365, Active Directory), business and enterprise technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and systems performance monitoring.
  • Proven expertise in implementing, configuring, and testing IT solutions with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology or related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.) are a plus but not required for candidates with significant hands-on experience and demonstrated competence.

Computer Skills                                                      
 
  • Proficient in managing and utilizing enterprise IT systems including Microsoft 365, ERP platforms (FileMaker Pro, Infor) Understanding of network architecture, protocols, and systems, including LAN/WAN, SDWAN, VPN, and network security solutions.
  • Expertise in server and cloud technologies such as Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, and virtualization platforms (e.g. Hyper-V, VMWare)
  • Knowledge of programming and/or scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell) for automation and process improvement
  • Strong background in system integrations, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting IT environments.
  • Infor or NetLink experience is preferred.

Ability to Travel: Travel to other locations, including our Mexico facility from time to time.
